From Cape Town, take the N7 north to Clanwilliam (±2.5–3 hrs). Top up fuel, then follow the R364 over Pakhuis Pass toward Rocklands/Calvinia. After the pass, you enter the Agter-Pakhuis valley. Follow the directions in your booking reminder email to the final turn. Most of the route is tarred, but there is a short section of gravel road. This can be driven with a regular sedan or hatchback. Drive in daylight if you can, watch for wildlife, and expect patchy cell signal beyond the pass.
